Technical Consultant
Huw is the Technical Supervisor in the Department of Language and Linguistic Science at the University of York, bringing decades of specialist experience in audio processing and sound engineering. His expertise encompasses digital audio manipulation, signal enhancement, and technical analysis, supporting both academic research and applied acoustic projects.
Alongside his institutional role, Huw maintained a successful parallel career in audio production for the museum and heritage sector, creating and processing soundscapes for public engagement and historical exhibition. His technical innovation in digital media earned him an award for technology in the production of the online English course Access UK. His creative and production credits also extend to documentary film, including serving as editor for the multi-award-winning film The Last Men Standing, which documented the experiences of miners in East Durham, UK. Additionally, he is an award-winning photographer.
