Katherine Earnshaw

Katherine Earnshaw (BA MSc) is a part-time casework assistant at J P French Associates. She has carried out research on the impact of accommodation on a range of forensic phonetic parameters and also variation in West Yorkshire accents; as part of this work she was involved in collecting the ESRC funded West Yorkshire Regional English Database (WYRED), which is the largest forensically-realistic spoken corpora containing Northern British English accents. She is a member of the International Association for Forensic Phonetics and Acoustics (IAFPA)The British Association of Academic Phoneticians (BAAP), The International Speech Communication Association (ISCA)The Societas Linguistica Europaea (SLE) and The Secure Societies Institute (SSI). Katherine has also lectured and taught phonetics to students at the University of Huddersfield, and has worked for the Home Office.
